CQ100

QSOnet is an Amateur Radio simulation program.  It is available to licensed hams for $39 per year.  There is a virtual transceiver (CQ100) and an auxiliary program (QSO-TV) to send and receive jpg pictures.  The system is not as well used as it once was, but does offer a great simulation of the ham radio experience.   The are a number of nets on CQ100 and daily QSOs and roundtables.  It is well worth looking into this fine program and downloading the trial.  Here is a picture of the CQ100/QSO-TV combination:

One net that I belong to is the CQ100 Awards Program (CAP) Net .  This net’s main purposes is to work for awards (using letters in calls, membership numbers, location, etc.) and to show pictures while your turn.  The net meets on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday at 0130z.  The frequency is 14.300 MHz on the CQ100 virtual transceiver.   Early check-ins begin at 0100z.  The net runs until about 0300z.  Note:  The net days listed above are the zulu days.  Here is a sample check-in picture that I used for this net:
